Resident Evil 2D Gameplay: Mansion Exploration and Puzzles
Mansion of Terror is a top-down 2D survival horror browser game inspired by the room-by-room exploration and resource management of classic Resident Evil. Search ten connected rooms, unlock routes, read scattered documents and work out a safe combination as zombies close in.
The route leads from the dining room and mansion wings through the greenhouse to an underground laboratory and escape battle. Crawlers, Crimson zombies, Cerberus dogs and other enemies make each encounter a choice between fighting and saving supplies.
Herbs, Ink Ribbons, Typewriters and Item Boxes
Eight inventory slots force you to choose between ammunition, healing herbs and key items. Combine Green Herbs for stronger healing or a Green Herb with a Red Herb to restore full health and temporarily boost defense. Item Boxes store supplies you can return for later.
Typewriter saves consume an Ink Ribbon and keep progress in this browser. Read documents for the combination safe, find the mansion map and unlock the greenhouse route. These small resource decisions give the 2D fan game its classic Biohazard style of survival horror.
Zombies, Cerberus Dogs and the Tyrant
Standard zombies, Crawlers, Bloated enemies, Crimson zombies, Cerberus dogs and the Tyrant create six different threats. Walls and furniture block gunfire, so check your aim before spending ammunition. Use doors to escape pursuers when supplies are low.
The combat knife, handgun and shotgun offer different ways to survive. If a zombie grabs you, mash Space to break free. When health falls to Danger, movement slows, making healing and route planning part of the escape.
Controls, Inventory and Survival Tips
Move with WASD and hold Shift to run. Aim and attack with the mouse, press R to reload and E to interact. Tab opens the eight-slot inventory, M opens the map once found, C combines a selected item, X drops or stores an item, and 1, 2 or 3 selects a weapon. Mash Space to break free when grabbed; Esc pauses.
Ammo is scarce, so use doors to lose pursuers and save shots for threats you cannot avoid. Combine green and red herbs for a full heal, read documents for puzzle clues, and spend an Ink Ribbon at a typewriter to save your progress.
